Asra Botros. Kitchen. January 09th , 2018.
For most of the homeowners in the United States of America, the kitchen is one of the most important parts of the house. This area is built specifically for you to have a place in which you could create, prepare and cook your food. However, with all the functionality and usefulness said, cooking and food preparation is not the only function that the kitchen serves. The kitchen is also the place in which you would talk about everything and anything under the sun together with your friends, your family, your colleagues and even your guests. The kitchen even serves as a place in which kids would run around together with the babysitters or their parents while they are gossiping around and chatting about the latest buzz in show business. This is definitely true because I myself had lots of memories, childhood memories, to be exact, in the kitchen.
Countertop Materials. Countertops that are covered in Formica are the most common as well as being the cheapest, however, they are likely to wear out quite quickly, and Formica covered countertops can be easily damaged. Placing a hot pan straight from the oven on to a Formica covered countertop can cause the material to bubble and crack, and this is damage will not be easy to repair, and could result in the replacement of that entire section.
Counter Overhang Size: The area that hangs over the cabinet profile is called the overhang. Standard counters 1.5-inch overhangs; in other words, the counter continues for one and a half inches beyond the edge of the cabinet. Wider overhangs may be installed to allow extra room for dining and food preparation. Since quartz is stronger, quartz countertops can feature larger overhangs than granite countertops.
If you don’t want them near the ceiling or you think it’ll draw the space inward, then use a table. If you’ve created a makeshift island, then create a makeshift cabinet by hanging them up underneath! Use a coat rack or another thrifted piece as a pot rack. Grab some metal or brass hooks and then situate the piece according to your need. You can create a wall for your pots too. Instead of just hooking up a rack, create something a bit unique. A chalkboard wall, with each pot’s outline will make an artistic spin on the usual organization. Section out a nook to keep the pots and pans hung and accessible but without them in view. Use a space underneath the island, breakfast counter or cabinets.
